Ken Hunter, APR, President & Chief Strategist

Guided by agency president and chief strategist Ken Hunter, the PowerStation has created and executed communication campaigns for more than 100 organizations in the U.S. and internationally.  Ken has developed a huge playbook of techniques designed to build relationships with target consumers and

decisionmakers.  He has 25+ years of experience in communication – working with international brands, small start-ups, and firms of many sizes in between.

 

A member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Ken was chair of the PRSA’s Tri-State District, encompassing more than 1,300 PR professionals in New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He holds the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation, certifying his deep knowledge of PR and adherence to the industry’s highest ethics.  Ken is a Syracuse University alum and teaches a PR campaign course at Rutgers University.

Sheila Tartaglia, Social Media Director

As the PowerStation's Social Media Director, Sheila expertly weaves ideas into winning social and traditional media campaigns that capture the attention of consumers and the press.  Her very outgoing approach skillfully builds relationships and makes connections that bring clients’ important stories to center stage.  Sheila

develops social media strategies and campaigns, pilots media relations initiatives, creates content, and more.

 

Sheila chaired PRSA’s National Diversity and Inclusion Committee (where she co-edited its Diversity Handbook), and contributes to Public Relations Tactics and the PRSAy blog.  She holds a master’s degree from The College of New Jersey, and both a bachelor’s degree and Public Relations Certificate from Rutgers University.. She is also working on a Master’s in Health Communication and Information at Rutgers and was an adjunct PR professor at Seton Hall University.

Dennis Tartaglia, Senior Media Strategist

As PowerStation’s Senior Media Strategist, Dennis provides clients with high-level media expertise including positioning client news, creating influential coverage, developing insightful content, and strategizing the best venues for coverage.  Dennis’ skill in media relations was honed as a senior PR executive at two leading

teaching hospitals, several nonprofits, and as a PR agency leader.

 

One of Dennis’ areas of expertise is medical and scientific communication, promoting the research and advocacy initiatives of some of the nation’s most influential academic medical centers, universities, and biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.  A former officer of both the Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Society and the Public Relations Society of America’s Health Academy, Dennis co-chaired the Academy’s national conference.  He holds a Master’s from Montclair State University and a Bachelor’s from Ramapo College.

Michael Lauer, Internal Communications Director

As PowerStation’s Internal Communications Director, Michael partners closely with senior leaders to increase visibility, deepen engagement with key stakeholders, and advance business priorities.  He is a trusted partner who can quickly translate complex topics and issues to ensure maximum impact.

When it comes time to tell a good story, Michael thrives on finding the optimal channels and methods in which to engage audience members.

Michael was a communication leader at a global pharmaceutical leader, responsible for developing communication strategies and managing international events for the chief medical officer.  He has also held senior roles at several leading communication agencies, and led HR communication for a top health insurer.  Michael is a board member of the PRSA New Jersey Chapter and a Monmouth University alum.
